Working on shenmue remix track, need help ripping samples !

Hey folks!

I'm working on a shenmue remix and I need your help!
I've been digging around for a way to convert the shenmue sound files to wav, but to no avail.

Some of the tools don't really work. I managed to extract some of the files, but I can't figure out a way to actually play them or convert them as they use some weird exotic ADPCM codecs

Does anyone have any experience with ripping the sounds? Or can provide me with some converted sounds? (without any background noise that is)

Preferably in Japanese!

Hello! Welcome to Shenmue Dojo!

Ripping Shenmue tracks is a bit of a tedious process from what I have come to understand. I am no expert on that form of Shenmue hacking but there are some people on here who are.

Could you mention exactly what you are looking for?

Shenmue Sound Effects:
You might be able to find them in older forum posts here. Things like menu beeps and such.

For individual instruments of Shenmue tracks:
Given the way the songs are compiled in the game engine, I think some users here might have found ways to get them via complex hex edits but I can not confirm those methods as I do not know them.

I mean like the voice samples, since people also managed to make soundboards, I assumed there was a way to rip those.

Too bad it doesn't have a "sound test mode" ;) like old games used to haha.
