I still think you're an idiot for doing that.

^ Then express those concerns in the thread in which he was questioning which version to sell, where such an opinion would be pertinent to the discussion. Such comments have no place in this thread, though I'm not entirely sure another thread was even necessary.

I'm bidding on it, i'd be more than happy to have the DC version of Shenmue II. I have the one for Xbox and have been playing it on the 360 in HD but I would like to be able to use my saves from dreamcast.

I have. But I'm expressing them here, too. If you really think my post was so out of place, move it. But I think you're over reacting a tad.

Such comments have no place in this thread

Then what should we be discussing in here, exactly?

though I'm not entirely sure another thread was even necessary.

Now that I agree on.

Why am I an idiot for doing this?

First off, I'm saving my Dreamcast for the SOLE purpose of Shenmue 1. I could have sold it with my bundle of games and made more money, but I am saving the WHOLE console just for ONE game. I think that already shows my commitment to the Shenmue saga. I am allowing my wallet to take a hit just so that I can have the abillity to play 1 game.

Secondly, I already have Shenmue 2 for Xbox. and I don't need 2 versions. You guys complain about the voice dubbing or whatever, but it does not bother me at all. Its a lot easier to just pop in the 1 shenmue 2 disc into the 360 and play instead of bringing out the dreamcast.

Thirdly, I'm going away to college and I'm not going to be bringing my Dreamcast (not enough room). So I wouldn't even be able to play it there. So why should it just be laying around here when I can sell it and make some money and spend it on things more important than a video game?

I love Shenmue, but there is no point in having 2 copies of the same game. Its simple economics. You have 2 things that are basically the same, and 1 is more valuable than the other. So what do you do?

People are complaining about the voice dubbing in Shenmue 2x. I don't remember anybody complaining about the voices in Shenmue 1.
But then again, people always have to complain. I bet if there was no voice over on the shenmue 2 and it was only subtitles, people would be complaining about that, asking "how can there be no english voiceovers in the xbox release?"

The voice dubbing in Shenmue 1 was bad. But it was nowhere near as bad as in Shenmue 2. It seemed as though no one really cared when they dubbed Shenmue 2; that it was a quick job. There was just no emotion in the voices whatsoever.

And for the record I wished they'd left the Japanese dub in for both games in the west and slapped subtitles on them instead.

My opinion still stands - I think you're an idiot for selling off Shenmue 2 for DC. I've explained my reasons why and I stand by them. You even say the Xbox version is 'sub-par' on your Ebay listing. So I can't understand why you are keeping the worser version.

Anyway, end of the day, this is my opinion. You do whatever the fuck you want.

I won't be bidding as I have 2 dc copies, but fair does sell it, make some dough.

I have 2 copies of S2 on the DC and one on the Xbox, but I'm one of these who has a different console in every room of my house, many of the games are the same. I think it's just because I have too much money to spend!!! haha.

Good luck with your sale.

Um, don't go around hurling abuse at people like that, please.
I'm pretty sure this would qualify as one of the "Other situations", and it is not commercial advertising, so IMO, it is not breaking the rule, or harming anybody. Think before you post next time please

This is simply a case of an individual giving this community a heads up that he's putting a DC version of Shenmue II (which is becoming more and more rare) up for bid. You'd think people would be appreciative. God, the internet is so ass-backwards sometimes...

Thanks Miles and VGAce.
VGAce basically says exactly what I was going to post in response to Spaz.
Its not like I was trying to sell somebody timeshares or porn site accounts.
I was just trying to let TRUE shenmue fans know that a copy of Shenmue 2 for the Dreamcast was available.
I just figured some people would be interested here in getting it. I'd rather somebody from here, a TRUE shenmue fan, get it than some other random person on eBay.
Anyway I guess DC Shenmue 2 is getting more rare, it got 14 bids and ended for 61 bucks, not bad!
Smokeeater48 was the winning bidder, is that anybody from here by any chance?

Ill be crying into my Pillow when I have 61 bucks in one hand, and Shenmue 2 xbox version in the other.

Especailly since Im not even going to have my Dreamcast at college, just my xbox, so I'll actually be able to PLAY it.
And then the 61 bucks can just go towards buying some of that good cali bud haha
