Learned Moves S1 to S2

I recently started replaying Shenmue 1 for the first time since I got NTSC to PAL save converting software. I'm eager to learn as many moves as I can find because I think I heard a long time ago that Shenmue 2 files by default (NOT transferred S1 file)) have a limited moveset. Can someone please give me more details about this?

Is there a lot of moves I can get in S1 that Xbox version of S2 doesnt include? Or maybe just a few moves?

There should be info on all the moves in Shenmue II on the actual website section.

You should really just look at a guide for these. I know that there are some moves in Shenmue 1 that don't have an equivalent in S2 (in terms of the button combination) so it's a good idea to at least get those ones. Examples would be that palm move that Yamagishi san teaches (until you get Mantis Combo in S2) and tiger storm. It's really frustrating playing S2 without the moves from S1

Actually the Xbox Shenmue 2 gives you all of the moves from Shenmue, quite a lot of capsule toys and a fair amount of money (but probably not what you would have earned in Shenmue). The major difference is it's in English rather than subtitled Japanese (which I prefer, but it really should have been Cantonese which would have been really cool)

edit; The last time I played Shenmue was on a DC emulator and I couldn't migrate my save file from 1 to 2, so I was left with barely any moves

oh i didnt know the xbox version gave you all the moves. i just didnt bother with it because i thought it would just start you off as if it did on dreamcast without the save transfer. but still from what i can see in pics of the differences between the 2 versions i THINK the dreamcast version is superior. might just be me though.

I'm kind of upset because I missed that move the 80 year old 3 blade guy teaches in the park with 2 palms. I'm already about to fight Chai (first battle) so i dont want to reset now. Guess I'll be going into S2 with 1 move short :/

Just remembered the name of that move, double blow. Quite handy in Shenmue but the button combination does it no favours in Shenmue 2. You can get Mantis Combo from Hanhui when you get to the second disc of S2. There aren't many fights before that anyway

Mantis Combo isn't a bad move. << x+a, x for the more powerful second hit of that move

honestly, regardless of what moves i have, i always just continuously do the Elbow Assault (>>x). It's quick and powerful.
