How to convert .rar file to cdi?

It worked fine with shenmue 1, but for some reason it's not working with this game. it comes out in "parts" or something...

is there a link to directly download the cdi file(pal version) or is there something i'm missing here?

I do the same thing i do for any dreamcast game... extract the .rar file, then highlight everything and extract that, which normally makes a .cdi file...

this is the only game it's not working for...

Next time, ask on the site you got the .rar from (assuming you didn't download it here).

I'm guessing it gave you a bunch of files ending in .001, .002, .003, etc.? Just extract the .001, and it should extract and merge all of the files. If you don't already have it, get 7zip. It's totally free and better than anything else out there.

sorry i mistyped before. i am using 7zip. i extract the contents of the .rar file and get a bunch of files. i highlight them all and instead of getting a .cdi file like every other game, i get a .mds and .mdf file for each disk...

what am i doing wrong? if it's the site i got it from, can you link me to a better .rar file that will work?

^If you are using an emulator you can run those formats. Just use the one (I forgot which extension it is) that is the size of the cd.

no, nulldc will not run the mdf file and the mds file is useless...

i was also able to get my hands on a gdi file, but that won't get past the bios screen...

if anyone could help me out, that would be amazing. it's been my dream to be able to play through shenmue 1 and then transfer my save to shenmue 2 and play through that since i got these games. i can only do that through emulation.

Please if anyone can show me anything useful, I would be so appreciative...
