Even after all these years I still found a new QTE scene

I'm sure you all know it but it's when you make the chawan sign and have to save the kid with the duck. Somehow I always missed that one... no idea how as I've played the game through multiple since as a kid and adult.

This game still surprises me all these years later in a way few games can!

Too bad you need to play as a real noob to unlock these rare scenes.

Did you know that this is also a "stepped fail" command QTE?

These QTEs have a different animation depending on how many of the button promts you execute.
If you do none Ryo get's beat up right away but get one or two right and Ryo will manage to fight one or two of the guys respectively before eventually getting beat up. Same mechanics for the QTE in Ren's Warehouse.

Yep I thought that was cool. As I haven't played in a while I was too slow for the last button (forgot you can press them before the whole sequence has been shown) and I saw Ryo beat two of them down before the last guy got him.

It's an amazing game. I'm really appreciating it after playing one of my other favourite games The Witcher 3. It's painfully obvious how much it inspired exploration games. For its time it has so much content too (interacting with every citizen - wacky and godawful English voice acting aside.)
