That last picture looks like a cross between Lan Di and Tom.

LOL that's just Lan Di's old hairstyle. Remember the Saturn footage? His hair looks similar to this CG picture there.
They originally designed him with very free flowing hair, but they couldn't pull it off because of hardward limitations.

That image looks pretty cool, but I like him better with it pulled back in a ponytail. It makes him seem much more in control and reserved to me for some reason. The loose hair seems too much of a villain cliche.

I have a feeling I've seen the Lan Di one before but I don't know where. Maybe I dreamed it.

The rural/farm images are very similar to artwork used in one of the Shenmue calendars.

I'll shoot a few snaps and up them tomorrow.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

If you compare the orange sky and very little ground underneath the bottom silhouette character in the 8th concept image above (similar dress to Lan Di, possible ponytail) to the newly found Lan Di art below, you'll notice the similarities.

Could this be the location for the final bout with Lan Di?

This is fascinating stuff.

As soon as I saw images 1 and 3, they immediately reminded me of the 1999 Shenmue calendar. I've taken some snaps of most of the months. The ones missing are familiar pictures of Shenhua so I didn't bother taking them.

As far as I can recall offhand, I haven't seen this artwork in any other Shenmue merchandise. But this stuff is absolutely beautiful to look at.

There's a light directly above so apologies for the shine.
