The postmortem itself was very enjoyable, I found myself laughing as Yu reminisced about his experience in China and debugging the game, I'd be interested in watching more of this. The Q&A was pretty much what I expected, as a Shenmue fan I'm obviously disappointed he evaded the Shenmue 3 question but it's hardly surprising.

Some websites are reporting that he did say something like "Of course I want to make it given the right opportunity"

According to GamaSutra his reply was "Of course I want to make one, if I have the right opportunity..."

Yu Suzuki's answer to the Shenmue 3 question wasnt just "dot dot dot".. he said basically "He wants to make it, but he doesnt know right now" but under such a mumbled voice the translator obviously knew this question would come up too that she decided to be a b*** about it and not translate it.

As for the presentation.. it was great. We even got a spoiler in there.
Does anyone have that screen grab of all the different plot points on the China map?

As for the rest of the Q&A session.. mother of GOD.. yes these are Game Developers asking the questions but are they that out of the loop as to not ask some more pressing questions? Those are the kind of questions you'd get from non-Shenmue fans. Perhaps people that played the game for 10 minutes 14 years and decided to attend the conference.

I've hung on for 13 years, this doesn't fly with me any more :( if his reply was truly:

"Of course I want to make one, if I have the right opportunity..."

that just proves the chance is pretty much nil and that nothing is in the works right now. Look at how old the guy is, if there is nothing on the table now getting worked on there never will be..

I've had enough, that anwser is proof enough for me. Sad day indeed. good luck guys! I'm out.

I agree. The Q&A session had me rolling my eyes. Someone honestly asked about the bicycle, like they've never heard of it a billion times before...

I don't understand what some folk wanted Suzuki to say. If there are no advancements, he's bound to answer the same exact thing, through which he's being as honest as he can.

If you lot prefer "No, I'm done with trying and will, surely, not initiate a Shenmue III project" to "Of course I want to make it, if I have the right opportunity", then suit yourself.

So far in the whole shenmue 3 world alls it has been are ifs buts and maybes. All of these shenmue gd-roms ive got are going in the back garden on a length of string to keep the cats out.
