I think when we do get Shenmue news, about 3 or 4 big pieces come within the same week and get us really excited. But come next week, and possibly the week after, then it some will get bored and criticize the team and such.

The criticizing part being everyone's favorite, of course. I thought it was clear everyone here is a game designer in a way or another.

As the president of Atari I'm getting a real kick out of these replies.

The price tag on some of their statues always make me cringe, I have to pass on most of the great ones they have due to that alone but i did invest in the Ryo one so it would be wrong to pass on the Lan Di one cause having them beside each other would be sweet! Not sure which to get though because I got the non exclusive Ryo one cause I liked the road platform he was standing on more then the mirror, hmmmm.

out of interest, does anyone know how they design & make these? i googled the designers and they are 3d designers, does this mean the prototype is 3d printed?

I just got this email from F4F.

We are sorry to deliver you a bad news.
Due to some technical difficulties in producing Lan Di, we believe the release of X will be delayed.
According to our current information, it is estimated that it will be postponed to August/September 2016.
Please stay tuned for our email updates for the release and we apologize for the postponement.

At least now there is some release date. They kept us in the dark about this long enough. It was very annoying to see them send announcements about new statues like every 2-3 weeks and not lose any word on Lan Di.
I get a feeling they may have going too many projects at once for their own good. Let's hope they don't cancle Lan Di completely...

So are we taking "X" to be some strange kind of coded reference to the Lan Di figure already mentioned, or is it rather the name of another character that was due to be released shortly after Lan Di?

I guess they made a mistake when copypasting the mail and didn't remove the placeholder. Or it could mean the X statue from their Mega Man series. Anyway, the second mail I got for the exclusive Lan Di came without the X.

god i wish i'd had the $ for this, love my Ryo on my shelf so much...it'dve been great to grab Vyse, too

thankfully, these Yakuza figures (whenever they show) are far cheaper! still, gonna want this one down the road, no doubt

Finally got new updates on the statue. Apparently its finished production and headed to the warehouse. They estimate balance collection to be late Sept/Oct. Not exactly sure when shipping is, I've paid for it already and got this email, so I'm guessing they are going to ship then too...?

Sucks it was delayed, but still super hyped I snagged an exclusive. Gotta find me someone willing to part ways with a Ryo statue now, as I missed out way back when it was made... :-k

Yeah, I got the memo as well...

We are excited to announce that Lan Di has already finished production and getting ready to the way to our warehouse.
According to our estimation, we believe the balance collection will start in late September/October so please stay tuned for our email updates for the actual release date.

Please get prepared on funds in this period and make sure the shipping address is correct in order to ensure figure can deliver on time.
