This Sunday, April 3rd marks the 50th consecutive monthly tweetathon by Team Yu to persuade Sega to save Shenmue. What originally started out with the hashtag #SaveShenmue - a journey to see the next instalment become a reality - became
#SaveShenmueHD after Shenmue 3 was finally announced at E3 last year.
#SaveShenmueHD is a necessity to help push Sega into releasing the first two Shenmue titles on modern day consoles and PC. As Yu Suzuki has already pointed out, "successful" sales of Shenmue 3 will allow him to continue the legacy and bring us a Shenmue 4. Although thousands of fans have pledged and continue to pledge everything they can via the former Kickstarter and ongoing Paypal Slacker Backer, it is important to remember that a good amount of success is still reliant on Shenmue and Shenmue 2 getting a HD release
before Shenmue 3 ships in December 2017, allowing new fans the chance to experience the saga from the beginning and ultimately increasing Shenmue 3's sales even further.
Therefore,
#SaveShenmueHD is as vital now as #SaveShenmue was for many years before it.
This Sunday, we ask everyone who loves the franchise to simply tweet the hashtag
#SaveShenmueHD to any official Sega twitter accounts, such as: @SEGA, @SEGA_OFFICIAL and @SEGA_EUROPE.
Alternatively, you can activate auto-tweets at TeamYu.net. They will tweet
#SaveShenmueHD every 3rd of the month on your behalf. To do this, simply sign up at:
TeamYu.net/HD.
Thank you for your [ongoing] support. We saved Shenmue 3, now let's
#SaveShenmueHD!
