I was very partial to the Gaming thoughts topic but now after a couple days it was the best thing to kill it. Oddly I feel I can express more without it

Forums don't need aggregating threads like that. Gaming forum is a load more active now that's done with. If you we're to restart it, you may as well unlock all the threads in GD and pretend this flux of activity never happened.

Actually, I've just now come around to the idea of keeping the Gaming Thoughts topic. We should just clarify that it's all about "random" gaming thoughts that don't fit anywhere else, and that it isn't meant for news about various games (which can always have their own dedicated topics).

I was watching intros to X68000 games on youtube, and found a cross-platform game featuring a snazzy intro that wasn't in the Genesis version. I got the urge to post it and just say "I wish the Genesis version would have retained an intro like this" and that "it would have improved the atmosphere of the game tenfold."
This clearly isn't something that needs its own topic. And it isn't dealing with a "favorite" intro, so it doesn't fit in that topic either.
It's a random gaming thought. Something that wouldn't be out of place in an aptly-titled "Random Gaming Thoughts" thread.
But without one, I really don't have anywhere else to post something like that.

Just something to consider.

I'd like to see this brought back, as I was looking for this just a few days ago. There is always going to be gaming news and multimedia of lesser importance. For example there are video rants and reviews on Youtube I like to share on occasion. I prefer to post this sort of stuff in the gaming thoughts thread.

Yea, like earlier on i just wanted to make a passing comment on how Twilight Princess is fast becoming my favourite Zelda game over OOT, but i am not gonna make an entire topic on Twilight Princess just to do it. Nor are me making huge topics like "The Legend of Zelda series".

Definitely wanted to keep Gaming Thoughts myself.

I love how out of everyone, the entire staff was late by about a week to reply. Not even being snide, just find it funny.

It wasn't done on a whim and the voting speaks for itself (especially prior to your votes), the thread was detrimental as it wasn't being used as described. GG's activity has been up close to 300%, you really can't argue with that.

I see where you're coming though and I too enjoyed it for those reasons, but it was barely used to do such things. I would be fine with it coming back as long as it was made 110% clear what it is to be used for. If so, I'm fine with it and I'm sure everyone else would be to.
