Return of the Subtopics

Postby Kenny » Sun Jun 21, 2015 4:44 am

Before we had no real need for subtopics due to the lack of activity, so they were rightfully taken away.

Now, I think we need that shit back. Sony, Sega, Nintendo, Off-Topic, Movies/Music/TV Shows. Everything is a bit harder to navigate now, especially the Shenmue III boards.

Just a thought.

I don't think the gaming forum needs to be split up, most games are multi platform these days so we'd have about 10 topics a year in the Sony and Microsoft ones. Stuff like a movie sub forum would make sense.

I agree with Movies/Music/TV. Perhaps eventually a "Beyond Shenmue III" sub-forum, but everything else is fine as it is, imo. Just use "View New Posts".

View New Posts is flooded with new topics or discussions all the time, it's not as useful as it was.

The forum has so much activity now that it would be unwise not to solve the issue and make browsing easier.

It was a one time reversal. There's no way to go through Off Topic or General Gaming and pick and select each thread over the past decade to add to a new Sony, Nintendo, etc. forum, same with movies, TV, sports, etc. I still don't believe we need them, there is hardly as much activity in those forums as a few are making it seem. Make a few official threads if need be and carry on please.

Just to add, the first page of Off Topic dates as far back as May. General Gaming as far back as three weeks. Sounds like an extra few topics, lol. Hardly the activity rush that's being described. Shenmue III forum is another animal, but that's to be expected. Hardly a problem, something we've been looking forward to for 14 years. Keep up or sub to topics, anything super important will be stickied.

Sub forums always gave me the vibe that they were the place for two member to go and have a bit of the old in out.

Particularly the "creative" forum. Used to think that was make out central.
