How dare you say that!

I wouldn't, I love my Dreamcast, so much sentimental attachment to it. The first console I bought with my own money.

I'll still have my Game Gear and Genesis for sentimental value. I loved my Dreamcast as well but most of the games available on it that I loved are or will be available on other platforms now. Dreamcast was also the first system I bought with my own money. It was a great feeling, but there were soon other systems I bought with my own money.

On PS2:
Ecco the Dolphin
Space Channel 5
Crazy Taxi
Soul Calibur (in the form of 2 or 3)
Resident Evil Code Veronica (own)
Dead or Alive 2 (own)

Gamecube: (can play on my Wii -- disgusting sounding, I know)
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2

On PS4:
Shenmue - Continuing with possibility of first two games as well.
Seaman - Probably won't buy but it's in the works

Kindle:
NES, SNES, GBA, Genesis, Game Gear emulators - Yes I have these on my Dreamcast.

I'm essentially missing Power Stone. That said, I'll probably keep my Blue VMU and transfer the Shenmue data over to it. I may also keep my Smoke Black VMU to have the Sonic Chao Adventure on for my kids. They enjoy it.

I'm so sorry for my question: For which backers is the demo?

Looks like the trial or demo of the game is for those that donated $100 or more on either Kickstarter or Paypal.

I can't remember anymore... but I assume that if you pledged at a certain level that you get everything else at lower pledge levels. Example being that if you pledged at $100 on Kickstarter, that you get the $80, $60, $40, etc prizes on top of the $100 pledge prizes as well.

So you would get the following on the $100 Kickstarter pledge:

- Name in credits
- Trial or Demo on PC
- The $80 S3 World Telecom to speak to previous characters
- The $60 choice of version of the game
- The $40 Wallpapers and name on website
- And of course the thanks and praise from Yu Suzuki and ability to vote in polls and get info first.

That's more or less right. There are a few exceptions I think, but you can always check in the description of your reward tier, as it will say which previous tier it also includes - which in turn will state which tier below that it includes, and so on.

Once Shenmue HD gets released, I'll have good reason not to dig out the DC. But I hope they do update the control scheme, going back to the D-Pad for movement is quite antiquated. ](*,)

If it's coming at this year's E3, it is one of the closest guarded secrets.

Sony has been very guarded this year, with very little leaking out about what megatons they may have. The knowns are there(Spidey, God of War, etc.) but no surprises have leaked out.

If Sony & Sega were able to keep Shenmue III a secret... they can keep Shenmue I & II Remastered secret.

In all honesty, if remasters are not announced at this E3, it would show complete negligence from both parties.

How do they expect new fans to invest in the saga when there's no clear indication they are?

Semi concrete rumors coming out from Reddit now about what Bluepoint have been working on, and to be revealed on Monday:

A full remake of Shadow of the Colossus.

For anyone who still thought they would be the ones behind a HD Shenmue.

Yeah, I saw this. I've got to say I'm losing my hype, not sure why but I just suddenly don't feel too hopeful.

I think we forget here that Shenmue is a small game franchise, despite it's record breaking kickstarter fund. Too often other gamers go 'huh, what's that?' when I mention Shenmue. Especially young people who when they got into games Shenmue was long gone.

I almost feel like Sony wouldn't want to waste time at their conference showing Shenmue HD because it just doesn't have a huge audience to tap into like other games do.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but if they were to announce it surely it would just be at a Sega stand at the convention rather than getting time in a conference? Maybe they'll even announce it a few months from now, I mean maybe not even at a convention?

Extremely odd that Bluepoint would remake Shadow of Colossus after remastering it once already just a few years ago. Can you link us to the thread where you saw this? As much as I love SoC I don't think its a game that would "please the masses" as their technical director said of the game they're working on.

Ok, so based on this evidence, we can conclude with to a certain extent that Bluepoint & JAW did NOT develop Shenmue remasters.

But based on Sega's past history of remasters, we can conclude to some extent that Blitworks or Sega themselves DID develop it.

Since I don't see Sega caring enough about the saga to do it themselves, my money is on BlitWorks.

If Bluepoint can complete God of War Collection remaster in 3 months, Blitworks can complete Shenmue remasters in 12 or so...

Expect Sega & Blitworks to announce a Shenmue I & II Collection remaster this E3.

It's now or never.

I wouldn't say never. Sega may genuinely have fucked up and just not gone with the ports because... well, they are Sega and have fucked things up in the past, bigly.

It's possible (and in my view now likely) that Shenmue HD won't be announced this E3 but that due to the delay they will consider making them and releasing them next year some time, possibly even at E3 2018. Time will tell.
