2000 Game Develeper's Conference video (English)

We've got a 1 hour long video of Yu Suzuki showing off Shenmue at the 2000 Game Developers Conference. The video is sort of like the Shenmue Premiere, only much higher quality, and in English. It shows a great amount of behind the scenes material of the creation of Shenmue!

I'm guessing this is the same file from Gamasutra? If so then I downloaded it the other week using Stream Down ;)

I like the little jibe Yu Suzuki has at PS2, something about having to decrease the amount of polygons used for the characters

and how he said he hadn't stopped drinking wine since he got off the plane :lol:

That was unbelievable!!!! I thought the Shenmue premiere could not get any better!!!!!

Well I finally finished downloading and watching it and I've gotta say, that is pretty damn amazing. I'm not sure wether it makes me more hopeful for Shenmue 3 (seeing how passionate Yu is about Shenmue) or just more depressed that it may never come out (a lot has changed since 2000).

Either way, great video. Yu's a pretty funny guy...Loved the wine comment and the joke about the PS2 :lol:

One question: In the video Yu said that you could buy something from the store and actually put it in the fridge...Is this true? I don't remember being able to do that... :-k

I don't think Ryo can do that. Maybe, he was able to do that at some point in the development.
Yu-san must have been confused a bit on the stage. ;)

when the 4 Min wait comes to hours on a waiting list BEFORE I can download.

Gamespy is really crappy.

Anyway when there finally was a free sever I downloaded it in 3:00 min flat and right now watching this INCREDIBLE video.

As far as I know, you can hit the "Download" button despite the "Wait Time."
Then after the wait time, say 4 min., you can proceed the downloading process.
I remember I didn't feel it annoying when I did that.

Btw, did you delete your post between the two of mine for some reason?
I didn't think I doubled my post there. :?

Like I said in the temp Forumplanet boards, this video really really got to me. Seeing this just made Shenmue feel closer again for some reason. To see all they put into it just makes me believe they are trying their best right now to create the rest. Right now, I can't even feel mad about the wait because of all the work they've put into it before. Just as long as it doesn't get too out of hand.

Yu Suzuki seems like a fun person to be around too. I was rolling when he made that joke about the PS2. The way he was laughing was funny.

Btw do any of uze think that Yu looked like Goro when he walked out and shook that guys hand. :lol:
