No one know what is up with Shenmue III and digital rex has not existed for several years. They were disbanded when Sega merged with Sammy about 5-6 years ago.
Yu is still at Sega getting the Milton treatment from office space and Shenmue is the red stapler.

Seriously starting to think that Yu Suzuki is either in hiding or just locked in a closest somewhere...with Yuji Naka as his bunkmate :???:

Yuji left sega and has relased a couple games already from his own studio. Right now he is about to release his own new IP stylish game called Ivy the Kiwi.

I meant from the standpoint of his previous works, which was rather monumental much like Suzuki's.

its just sad that sega have lost the plot this badly

thay are just as crazy as thay ust to be but in a diffrent less fun way , thay ust to make crazzy cool games like shenmue jetset radieo and er seaman good games that lost money, now thay make crap games like the last 5 or so sonic games ok thay made money but im pretty sure all the movie tie in games faild worse than them games usually do golden axe beast rider LOL alterd beast

the only thing thay have made that i think is any good of late is yakuza wich is oddly like shenmue in many ways

i cant beleve thay have done this to yu and i cant beleve he still works for them i would leave and get a job with nintendo or somthing

sega dont run thir businise in a way that makes any sens

I'm pretty sure that SEGA have made quite a bit of their crap games. Movie tie ins sell. It's sad but very true and I'm sure Iron Man did very well. They have also done to Olymipics games which the Mario and Sonic one sold like mad and I'm sure the other did well. The point is that SEGA don't have money to throw around anymore they have to play it safe.

well thay shut down the building that made the movie tie ins recently so i guess thay didnt do as well as thay hoped but yea sonic sells no matter how bad thay make em golden axe was also a flop

i think the jetset radeo game for the wii thay rejected would of been an erner would of been a good game IMO

does anyone really think shenmue would cost that much by todays standerds i mean yakuza looks pretty much like shenmue HDand that was one of the most expencive in house games thay have made of late but it still was about halfe the price of shenmue

thay should bring back alex kid also i think thay could profit from that

thay dont seam to do things that make any sence any more

i hope thay are saveing everything for the dreamcast 2 but thats just a pipe dream at the moment

who is the guy that took over sega after the old guy died he aint as good

Still, Yu Suzuki is said to be making a PS Move game (problably Psy Phi, the cancelled arcade beat'em-up).
I hope this is indeed true and that it is made official shortly.

For years now Suzuki-san is behind Sega's arcade division, with such projects has Sega Race TV, Afterburner Climax and others.

SEGA never did anything smart. Just read about the Saturn for example. The only reason you think SEGA is making stupid decisions is because they aren't making games you like.

The old Sega never made good business decisions and while big innovators then,Just as much as Nintendo in both hardware and software. Sega didn't know when to hold back and moderate themselves and thus any new idea they got the very second they got it they threw it on the market without thinking. Nintendo was always more calculating so even in thier flops they were able to move along and bury things under the carpet with more ease. Virtua Boy could have destroyed them.

Even though it killed Sega hardware wise and these days a mostly mediocre developer and hit or miss published titles. yes they still do have a few awesome gems like Yakuza they obviously can't be what they used to be but even losing that I would not trade the old sega for anything. It was a great era on a fast ride but worth it.

Nintendo is on a Marathon and Sega was on a Sprint.
