I am looking forward to meeting you all !

Is the Event free to attend?

When I've registered, they never asked any fees and I've yet to see any price so I'd say its free.

If I don't register do you think I will be able to get in by sneaking the security guard a cheeky tenner?

If you live near Monaco, you could give it a shot, but I wouldn't try.

Did an alternative search on major cities, and from London or Dublin, it's £70 return. Throw in the £30 hostel and for £100, that's such a deal. Hopefully will get it booked next week.

For anyone that may be planning on using AirBnB to book a room/place - please make sure you go to the AirBnB website directly, rather than via a Google Ad; AirBnB have decided to charge hosts a higher amount for bookings that are made by people coming from a Google Ad, as opposed to those people who go straight to the AirBnB site and book. AirBnB have given people the option of not having their properties shown to people that came from Google Ads, so if you do go via an Ad, you may not get to see all the properties that are available.

Wish i could send you my wife. She speaks English and Japanese pretty well (Aight, she IS Japanese). Well i speak French but i got a bit rusty i fear. Shame that it's such a short trip, Cannes, Nice and the rest of the cote d'azur are also pretty nice and the weather is a tad different than the British weather, so even in February not that bad.

Thanks Ash. I was just using hostelworld or hostelbookers. They did me pretty well in Australia and there are no hidden fees.

I know it's ignorant, but I don't speak a word of French. But I am pretty much gonna keep myself to myself. Just attend the event and try to get into Yu Suzukis conference.

Absolutely over the moon now that both my flights and hotel are booked!

I decided against staying in a hostel in Nice, and have splashed out a bit for a hotel in central Monaco. When i say splashed out, £163 for 3 nights in a hotel in Monaco is the cheapest i could find in and amongst the £400-£1000 hotels that is the going rate in such a place. Plus, since my French is poor, transport to and from Nice was a slight concern, so with the hotel being only 20 minutes walk from the Grimaldi Forum, i can get there nice and early in case theres a queue for Suzuki-sans confrence! Not only that, but i cannot wait to meet a certain few Shenmue fans who i know are also attending. You know who you are! ;-)

An excellent few months up ahead, with monthly Shenmue 3 updates, some Paypal promotions from Team Yu, Christmas, the end of the PayPal campaign, and then Monaco in February! I couldnt be happier! :D

Only 56 days to go before MM.

Finally found the 110 transfers that run from T1 at Cote d'azur airport, and will be getting dropped off at the casino. My hotel is about 10 minutes from the Casino, and 15 minutes from the Grimaldi Forum. Since New Years is now over, all I can think of is this trip.

I hope there's some new material on show, but part of me wonders if it will just be the GDC/China presentation again.

Didn't both Yu and Cedric say Magic Monaco will be where we get a teaser trailer and maybe a glimpse of gameplay? I think it's always been said that February will have the first big update on the project's status.

Are you pessimistic about the development now Peter ?
Unless YSnet faced troubles or engaged very singular methods, the pre-production phase is likely to be done since some weeks at least and the designers may have worked well on backstage in the meantime as they possibly refused to show us most of their work-in-progress since the Kickstarter campaign. If not, perhaps the conference will focus mainly on Kenji Miyawaki's work.
I've only strong doubts about getting enough material to show us the very first Shenmue III teaser, that's very ambitious as Cedric said given the production planning. But if it happens, that would mean Yu is better surrounded than we're thinking.

A bit pessimistic since after the KS ended, the words used for MM was "new material" shown. Since then, it's been glanced over really.

Ah, I don't mind either way, as long as I get into the confrence it will be well worth the trip :D
