The only thing I dislike about the video is the apparent lack of good facial animations, but I am not even sure if it is because of they haven't been greatly implemented or that the motion capture actor was just really stone faced during production. It kinda reminds me of a Japanese live talk show host who is stocked full of botox. It makes the performance a bit creepy. Bad actor or bad direction, I dunno. I just hope the character is a bit more lively in the final game.

Also, why is this snotty nosed little kid becoming the mascot of the game? They should have done the video with Shenhua, with the latest seen model because well, it's perfect and makes more sense as Shenhua has traditionally been the mascot on Shenmue promo and marketing materials.

Or this kid could maybe be integral to the plot, or something. But still boo!, more Shenhua or we riot!

Also Chai's creepy crawling animation looks good. Like the actor was really into it.

It's just a fun little thing to announce the surveys. It's not going to get the level of attention or polish as content that will make it to the actual game. Compare it with the (still unfinished, most likely) footage of the girl talking in the THQ Nordic video.

I think it was fine for what it was.

The kid is perfect for delivering this kind of thing, because she doesn't have a serious in-game personality to maintain. If they got Shenhua to do this video then she'd either be creating a disconnect by acting out of character, or a fun little clip would become less playful.

I'd find it off-putting and awkward for a main character like Shenhua to be breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to the viewer. I think they made the right call.

Yeah, no. Especially when she was already all over branding in Shenmue 1, on snacks, on tapes, etc.

I was caught off guard by how great the video was. I've been cynical in regards to my personal expectations for the look of the game but I think that it looks amazing considering what stage of development we're at right now. I'm officially hyped!

wow everything looks so Alive in Bailu Village. I think the graphics looks really nice and the little girl is cute.

It's beautiful. Way more than I was expecting 3 years ago.

I don't know what else I could say about the graphics, the atmosphere, the details...
