Looks fine to me.

Someone on NeoGAF posted a head-to-head of New Ryo and the guy from Yakuza and I honestly think Ryo looks better & more detailed. People are just setting their expectations WAY too high. Animations, yeah, have work to be done, but let's stop being so dramatic that we're proclaiming we won't even PLAY the game if the game looks like it does in these screenshots.

I just loved the new footage...... i don't care minor details....i know its a work in progress....but....i would die to play this game whatsoever...in any era...in any system. And indeed, Shenmue and Shenmue 2 have their thech achivements....but....for today's standards, they got old. Has its charming though...but, there some guys that are expecting Shenmue 3 and its characters, to have the facial quality and produce values of a The Last of Us......
Shenmue was relevant in facial animations at 2000....but even so, wasn't that perfection.....i can pin point in what scenes that made an impression on me (When Ryo is putting his money recently retrieved from Ren on that Wharehouse with that scrap car is one of then. The moviment of his eyes is superb...it always got my attention). There're some people demanding state-of-art facial animations in the new game....and Shenmue had never quite a perfect level on that....
And that never stopped any fan to love this game...
Of course i wanted Shenmue 3 to have 50 million budget...but we have to get real.....especially in tech expectations...

Ryo looks astonishing for me! But... the face is gonna make me cry when I see is Lan Di.
If you guys love the new Jacket Ryo uses... imagine the look of Lan Di's new outfit. I think neither the phoenix mirror nor Ryo's Jacket is going to impact as much as Lan Di's high definition clothes.

I relatively happy with new screens. I think Ryo's model is coming along nicely.

Anyone get vibes from previous Shenmue art work from this screenshot?

You are welcome. It's one of my favourite pieces from Shenmue and I think perfectly encapsulates what makes the series so special.

OMG OMG.
Really?? they have not decided YET?? ok i will never play this game. i just cannot believe that!!!! The name of this random shop in the village is really important to me!!! This is a disaster!!!!!

Excellent update. Ryo looks spot on. Incredible work. There's still work to be done on the eyes, lighting, etc, but those are some very very VERY promising results.

The Shenmue comparison to Yakuza speaks volumes. Shenmue 3 clearly looks better than the Yakuza 0 models.

That picture of Ryo is really that good enough for me that I finally made the move to try out a new signature image.
I've always wanted to make something new after I ditched the old one with the rise of the Kickstarter. Was just waiting for some Shenmue III material that looked good enough.

The colors and Ryo's look are fine tuned eeeever so slightly to improve it just a bit more.
Anxious to see how long it will last...
