Shenmue Campaign "Project X"

Postby Hazuki Legend » Sat Jun 09, 2007 5:41 am

Okay for those of you that didn't know i've been asked to come up with a name for the project over at www.shenmuecampaign.com and i would like some feedback as to what the codename should be. This will be the first of many votes as i will be collecting polling data to contribute on the campaign site so please choose one of the codenames above and if you select 'Other' then please state what. Lots of feedback is very important so please vote on this one.

Shenmue Campaign is okay and obvious. I don't think it needs a mysterious project name.

And if so, my suggestion would be Shenmue Shout-out.
Why? Because Wikipedia says this:

A shout-out is a greeting or acknowledgment of a person, group, or organization of significance. It is often done as a sign of respect, synonymous with "giving props".

The Oxford English Dictionary dates the term back to 1990, and notes that in the United States the term is particularly used among fans and performers of rap music (shout-outs are of particular significance in hip-hop culture), while in the United Kingdom it is particularly associated with the rave and club subculture. On either side of the Atlantic, the term is not limited to those groups.

So, we give props to supporters and perhaps finally props to even SEGA?
Who knows? But I guess it would be a great name. Especially because of the Shenmue Shout-out[/b]

I think Project November 1986 is a bit too long. Perhaps Project '86 would be good, but I voted Project III out of the ones above.

I liked to see Project SIII between your options!

if not, III works fine.

i for one dont think there is going to be much chance of shenmue III being made... i do think there is more chance they will release shenmue I & 2 and then III

so iam against the whole Project III name. I do like the whole Proect 1986 or something similar

Project X sounds really catchy. I go for that choice.

Project Now-san

Niao-san, but more reflective of when we want Shenmue. Or Project III60 as most reckon Shenmue III will be released on the new Xbox. Plus, with a name like that it'll be more universally recognised, and gather more interest than a game few people have heard of.

I doubt this approach.

I voted Project November 1986 but I think Project 1986 is better.

I like the Project '86 idea. I personally don't think that Shenmue III should be mentioned as it is a Shenmue campaign not a Shenmue III campaign. Sure we would love to get Shenmue III asa result but at the moment i'm edging towards project '86.

Out of those i'd say project Lucky Hit is the best but i don't think it'll make the grade, but keep the ideas coming in.
