Did Cerny work on any of the Shenmue games? I remember something he said about working with Suzuki before.

Nope. He worked for Sega Japan on Sonic 1 and 2, Kid Chameleon so he probably knows Yu from back then.

And again. Yu is not at Sega who own the IP so they can talk about it all they want but Sega seems to just want the series to be dead now days.
Nor would they have a serious out in the open of other people. As i said someone trying to get some attention with her tweets.

Going to edit the topic title a bit so this can gain a bit more attention. At the moment it sounds like a theory topic only.

I know rumors and whatnot suck the big one, but theres somethint about Mark Cerny being involved in this news thats sparked my interest and provides a slight bit of hope. There are two things that id like to suggest:

He did ask Yu pretty direct Shenmue questions when he hosted the confrence last year. Something says to me he is pro Shenmue.

I sent her a tweet about it. But really this is either her attempt at a joke or a troll/attention seeking.

They are clearly great friends from Marks time at Sega and i really doubt they had a serious conversation about Shenmue/PS4, Mark probably made a quick joke about it.

Being the first to discuss new Shenmue III rumors gets you popular for a bit, just like the mistranslation in Monaco only a few weeks back.

Woah, I was just thinking about this last night and I was going to try and contact Mark Cerny over the weekend, then I read this. Hopefully this isn't just trolling us Shenmue fans. Early April fools joke? I hope not. I will send her a tweet too.
