I remember when everyone here was waiting for Shenmue III on Xbox. Then came the rumours of the Nextbox/Xbox 2 and everybody said "Shenmue III - next generation" All the 360 got was backwards compabitly for S IIx.
And here we are, 8 years later. History repeats itself...
Well I don't think the new generation is going to increase the likeliness that we will get Shenmue III.
Other factors control how likely the game is going to get released. But if it happens it will of course be released on one of the new consoles.
Good thing that Shenmue III can now be even more graphically impressive... But maybe it will be even more impressive when it arrives one more generation ahead, on the Sega Terra......

Posted: Tue Jul 30, 2013 4:14 pmIs yu zuzuki trying to obtain shenmue license from Sega? I doubt Sega will do this seeing they have used shenmue material in other Sega games. However, Sega needs to focus on releasing shenmue 1 and 2 HD. Both would be perfect for the casual market Xbox arcade, ps network, steam, and iOS / android. Then they need to bring suzuki back on board for 3 for maybe a ps4 and Xbox one release.

Posted: Sun Aug 18, 2013 4:52 pmI agree! Shenmue 1 and 2 in HD needs to be on Ps3 and/or Ps4 as well as Xbox! Then they should make Shenmue 3 and it should have a huge online gaming capacity! I want to be able to create my own Shenmue world character and interact with others, like sparring, arm wrestling and games of Lucky hit! And I would also love some forklift racing. The game itself would be incredible to play! We have to pressure the powers that be to make it happen!

P.s Anyone seen those ps4 yakuza screens? Shenmue could look similar if better.
