Celebrity Endorsements

This idea sounds far-fetched but I thought it might be worth a try. Why not include some celebrities with a large audience in the Shenmue campaign? These days many celebrities/athletes interact with their fans via social networking.

For example, what if Shenmue received the "Colbert Bump"? Colbert has given great attention to many random things before and there is no doubt in my mind he would do something on Shenmue if we brought it to his attention. We could ask through Twitter/Facebook or even if somebody in NYC goes to a taping of the show and talks about Shenmue during the Q and A, he would mention it on the show.

I know this is a long-shot but I'm just trying to think of ideas to help the campaign and this is what comes to mind. If we got at least one celebrity to join the campaign that would help our cause by significantly increasing the campaign's social outreach.

I think we should focus on one celebrity at a time. My suggestion is Colbert. I'd say most of the video game industry is already aware of us so lets try to explore some other horizons. Imagine Justin Bieber joining the campaign

Kavinsky tweeted about the Give Yu the Shenmue license once.

Great attitude.

I don't think anyone's said, "Hey, we've already made it, Kavinsky's tweeted for us and there's no bigger celebrity, so it's as good as done."

Quote the post that did if I'm wrong.

I like the idea of getting celebreties to promote the campaign. With a lot of followers many people will get the message and it will also generate a good amount of general interest. If we could get some slightly bigger names from actors or internet celebs then it will definately add a new level to the support.

Or, from the link in the post right above yours:

Kavinsky is a French musician who credits Yu with inspiring the title of his debut studio album OutRun.

You need to dial down your sensitivity..

Call it sensitivity if you want, but I think lavrentis had a choice of whether to reply to MartyMcFly's constructive idea with some positive encouragement and maybe pledge some proactive contribution of his own, or to belittle the efforts that other people have made so far. He chose the latter, and in anyone's book that should call for a little criticism. I'm genuinely sorry that you don't see it that way, when you post on a forum like this one.

No worries then. Sometimes I need a glaringly obvious smiley (with at least ten colors and flashing) to help me differentiate the dry wit from the dry cynicism around here.

He's pretty well known on the electro scene as well has international fame. His most famous song has 40 million views on youtube

He might not be daft punk levels but he's definitely a celebrity
