Relationships in Shenmue III

Ive given this some thought over the years and to be honest the only one I could see Ryo having a relationship with is Xiuying. Shes strong and beautiful and can kick Ryos ass... That is something Ryo respects. All the others he gives the brush off. Also, you could see somewhat of an interest (atleast curiosity) as Ryo would watch Xiuying sleep at night. I thing Xiuying had started caring for Ryo on some level pretty quickly. She let him sleep in her room, gave him a job, taught him MA's and gave him info. She even followed him around all over Hong Kong and even to Kowloon to save hm because she was worried about him. I think there was meant to be some feelings on her side. Ryo is prerty much one track minded, but he does respect Xiuying more than other women. Im curious to see what happens with their relationship in part 3. I have a theory that Shenhua and Ryo may be related so im curious about that as well. My opinion anyway.

Ren = Han Solo
Forklift = Millenium Falcon
Iwao = Obi Wan
Don Niu = Jabba
Lan Di = Vader
Fuku San = C3PO



Let Ryo focus on his goal of revenge, but use another character possibly Ren to satiate that checklist need for romance.

I wrote that post for a laugh lol but if Shenhua is Ryo's sister or related in some form it would totally support her "being" princess leia!!!!

For some reason, I feel that Ryo and Shenhua are destined to end up together. I've had that feeling ever since I first played Shenmue II as a kid. Ryo's had his fair share of chances with women (Joy, Nozomi, and Izumi) but he's pretty much shrugged them off since he's been so consumed with his thirst for vengeance. However, I feel Ryo starts to relax a little during the Guilin segment at the end of S2, and I feel in S3 he will be spending a lot of time with Shenhua and will become very close to her, possibly falling in love with her. Just my theory.

In the original Shenmue, it was alluded to that Fuku-san and Ryo were secret lovers.

Because Shenhua doesnt know her real father. She never met him. Remember Iwao traveled all over China and even Guilin during his studies. Ryo and Shenhua are linked together by something thats drawing them back. A family bond seems like an interesting twist. It seems appropriate. Just a theory.

At the end (as long as Ryo isn't dead) i'd like to be able to choose which girl Ryo ends up with and have a scene where he goes back to find her and surprises her. i'm not really too keen on a romantic relationship playing out during the main game. the way romance has been handled thus far is fine, with Ryo keeping aloof.

John I think that would be an awesome way to end it. Give the player a choice and have real story lines worked out for each one. That would add an extra layer.of epic to this saga.
