Grab bag items

The $1,000 tier $2,000 tier rewards recently added contain randomly selected "ultra rare" promotional items from Shenmue 1 and 2.

But… they're basically crap, right? A CD case? A mousepad? A silkscreened t-shirt that anyone could make for $25? I guess, there's a figurine if you're in the $2,000 tier but honestly the rest looks like stuff I'd be tempted to throw away.

Have you guys heard anything else?

Well, all of the limited supply rewards are gone, so obviously some people disagree with you. I'm inclined to say the same- the rewards aren't very proportional to the money you're putting down, but that's not the point. When you're giving that much, you're not expecting to get it all back in tangible value. It certainly won't cost them $29 per person to distribute the game digitally.

I dropped my $2000 pledge, so someone else can get it. I'm not a collector and really don't have space for knicknacks.

In the meantime I will try to get the $3000 jacket reward instead.

I'm on the 2000 tier, and I also think it kinda sucks. The watches look cheap as fuck, I'll probably keep it while there are no other tiers, but yeah, it's not that good of "value".

I kinda just like the T shirt, and I could have one made with 30 bucks at most.

But at this rate I think the mirror's replicas will be like 200000 bucks or something crazy like that.

Give me an hour, and I will give you a better idea of what these items are.

Someone else snapped it up already!

I'm not sure I want the mirror replicas either. A lucky hit stand, on the other hand…

I would really like the mirrors replicas, just because they are cool as phuck. I actually bought a little collection of miniatures from a japanese museum because it had a little one.

I don't think I could fit somewhere a lucky hit stand. But also, it's easier to doubt about the quality of a mirror replica.

A shenmue themed usb would be nice, a metal case would be nice, a keychain (most of the kickstarters have this), the heavens lighter.

I'm not much of a collector either, but I wouldn't mind.

A flash drive disguised as a Heavens lighter? That would be amazing.

Just by looking at the pledges you can see what people "think" about them.

- 29 people want the game.
- 60 people don't care about physical PC.
- 100 people kinda care about trial version.
- 120/160 - not very much interest in some dlc and a toy (maybe because 15 bucks more and get a printed artbook?).
- 175 people like the printed artbook.
- 250 more dlc and a print that doesn't get much love.
- 300 People like to have yu's signature.
- 500 people don't really care about the toys, but want to pledge (and don't have 3000 dls).

You can see that people don't care much about the toys/dlc in general just by looking at it.
I guess is too late to change it now.

They're not great, but I went for the $1000 one anyway mainly because I want to give $1000 to Shenmue 3's development.

If people are willing to pay $5k for some old tat, imagine how much they'll pay for something cool like replica mirrors!

/\ same could be said about the $3k reward jacket. you just know its going to be really crappy quality.. wont be worth any more than $100.

keep your 2k pledge & just buy your self a top quality USAAF ww2 style "Type A-2" jacket or a second hand one. ( aeroleatherclothing or eastmanleather do a really nice one)

It's hard to speculate that though when it all comes down to peoples current financial state. I'm sure many more would love to move up the tiers up to the $500 tier but just simply cannot afford to drop that amount right now. It's not necessarily because they don't care about the rewards that are being given, it's because they went with the tier that best suited their wallet imo

I'm talking about how some tiers just dip and some have a lot of people even compared to more expensive ones, and that kinda gives a trend, look at it:

29- 27,5k
60- 4,3k
100- 4,5k
120- 1,3k
160- 0,8k
175- 1,8k
250- 0,8k
300- 2,1k
500- 1k

As you can see the 60 tier has a dip, 120 and 160 has a dip (compared to 175), 250 has a dip.

I read those dips as:
People don't care much about pc physical, toys and dlc.
People care about signed yu suzuki, artbook and trial version.
