Kenji Miyawaki is back for the second part of his interview for one look back and one look forward. Kenji talks about how Ryo’s character got his fashion sense, and explains the mysterious character on the canvas.

I heard it as 'Ming Ming'.

Could she be the next GrandMaster?
Or another female character who could fall in love with ryo? (Possibly cause tension between her and shenhua)

Or will she even be in Shenmue 3? Possibly Shenmue 4? Or might be cut out of the final product al together!!!??? (I hope not!!)

Me too. Kenji says he "hopes she'll eventually find her way on to the game screen someday."
She looks and sounds like a very interesting character, "full of life and she knows Kung Fu".
Possible love interest for Ryo too, by the way he came across in describing her.

I hope she eventually gets the game time she obviously deserves (Kenji stated he's spent a lot of time creating her.)

he described her as a martial artist who is 'free spirited, very upfront and sometimes reckless but very full of life'

What's even cooler about this image is that he seems to have completed it largely in the course of the length of the interviews...in fact you see him drawing it in the first one. Talent!

It's exciting to think of all the new characters we're going to encounter and fall in love with, just like the big characters from the first 2 games, we all love most of them, hence why the $80 phone call to see how they're all doing is an option. The possibility of more special individual characters like that didn't even really cross my mind, as I was more focusing on thinking about Ryo and Shenhua. Great insight into the future today with this video, seems like a nice guy aswell

It feels so strange to be introduced to new Shenmue characters seeing as we've all been analysing the same ones for over a decade now.

Her personality certainly seems a little at odds with both Ryo and Shenhua, could be interesting times ahead.

I can't see Ryo actually falling in love with anyone. He's a robot to me.

Got a reply from YS Net re: including $1200 in $1500:

"...as much as we would like to offer the content form the $1200 tier as well due to reward costs this is not possible."

On the bright side, I checked the Kickstarter page and the $1400 includes the $1200 pledge, so that's good news

Ahh damn, just seen this...that's a real shame. I think i'll stick to the $1500, because the picture is more special, but just have a bit of a sour taste missing out on the scrolls and the physical print.
