I'd make training in Shenmue 1 more simple.

And with an added rapport system.

For HD port.

More simple ??

You gain xp by going to sleep, passing days and by "storygoals" AKA switching disks.

I loved training in the parking lot, missed it a lot in SII

Ryo training in the rain.

Amazing times

That does NOT make it simple.

Spending 5 hours just to fully master 1 move should of been illegal.

I liked the training in S1. And I also liked how long it took to master moves.

I won't join the discussion whether Sega will do HD remakes / ports or not, because speculation serves no purpose and besides, time will tell.

The only thing I do say, though, is this. Now this is just a wish which would make the teenager, adult and Shenmue die-hard fan inside me totally freak out in ecstasy. If Sega should create modern incarnations of Shenmue 1 and 2, no matter how, I'd love to see taking over my savegame from Shenmue 1 to Shenmue 2 and from Shenmue 2 to Shenmue 3.

It would be interesting if SEGA could collaborate with YsNet in order to make transfer a possibility. If they were to make HD versions of Shenmue & Shenmue II for PC/PS4, then I see no reason why save transfer couldn't be a thing -- even into Shenmue III.

This is all, of course, assuming we even get HD remasters.

I think so, too. I, as a programmer, can say that making savegames compatible is quite easy. All they had to do is to define a data interface and savefile layout. That's about it. (Of course this is the easy, one-sentence answer, but it really isn't that big a deal.)

I'm confident that Shenmue 1 and 2 HD will be released on PSN. There will be a save carry over that will work with Shenmue 3.

There HAS to be.. otherwise Shenmue 3 will be a game without a beginning or end. Shenmue 1 and 2 re-release is required to ensure 3's success.

Writing "should of" instead of "should have" is what should be illegal.

I think people have a tendency to request too much/features that are hard to implement. We don't want Sega to fuck it up and we don't want a game that's going to cost them much to port. Let's keep it simple, an emulator-wrapped port to PC/PS4, that runs at 1080p (or more) in widescreen is really all we need. Basically nullDC but bug free.

(If they give the file format that they're using to Yu et al, they can make Shenmue 3 saves work with 1&2.)

Save transfer compatibility with Shenmue 3 is an absolute necessity though, if they're on the same console.

You can't even speak English yourself. You are illegal dumb motherfucker, next time you won't be alive if you try to fuck with me again. Shenmue 1's training system is tedious without a fucking doubt. You want to do the same move 500 times and make shitty history? Fine. Put you're glasses on because you are blind.
