Just watched an old gameplay video for the first shenmue, who was it that sent the letter telling ryo to contact master Chen? And how did they know when to send it? I can't remember ever finding out or maybe I just forgot

The letter was sent by Zhu Yuanda, per the "This is Zhu's handwriting" comment that Chen makes when he reads it. As to how he knows, he has informants like Zhang because the Chi Yo Men's activities interfere with his business by selling black market goods.

I was thinking about the size of Shenmue 3, based on what Suzuki said in an interview a while ago, it seems that they will increase the size of the world more than they thought.

I can't remember in which interview suzuki said this but with the efficiency of Unreal engine he now can do more thing in less time than before. I recall he telling that the size of the map was going to be 2 x 2 km and now the will increase this size in 4 x 4km. Is this size equal or superior to the size of Shenmue 2?
Do you think Shenmue 3 willl be between Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 in terms of size map?

So the total size of the game could be bigger than those 4x4? I hope he could tell something more about this in next interview.

I have a feeling Shenmue II will end up being the definitive Shenmue game, I think it will end up being better than 3. What do you guys think?

I think that's going to go to Shenmue IV. There's still a lot of story left in Shenmue. III is going to be a slower paced game, I just hope we get to fight Lan Di in III.

Shenmue IV will be produced by Sega under the Yakuza engine with a similar budget to the Yakuza games with lush 4K visuals with VR support. The ultimate Shenmue experience
