Hello Everyone!

Shenmue would not be Shenmue without the music. The right song sets the tempo and the atmosphere, immersing you in the world and the moment.

This month, Yu-san gives an interview on the process of choosing music in the world of Shenmue, his experience and influences with music, and what music means in the creation of a game. Please enjoy!



Music heard at 3:06 in the update video

Shot on the same day as the Dev Room video, I believe. Both the "host" and Yu are in the same clothes, plus all the title cards besides the first list it as Aug 22nd, which was indeed a Monday that month but not in November.

Mm. In the unlikely event of a massive coincidence, the magic bullet is still the goof on the title cards and the date on Yu's larger computer. First title card says it was shot on Tuesday Nov 22nd, the following ones say Monday Aug 22nd, and Yu's computer says 23rd Nov.

The only other scenario I can think of is that Awesome Japan made a goof editing the reused title cards from the Dev Room video in August and this was indeed shot in November.

Both Yu's parents were music professor.

He played the guitar when he was younger and wanted to be a rock star - but, by his own description, he wasn't good enough.

He said it before, I don't remember where (but it was also fairly recent).

Is it possible to see the Date and Time in this big screen with Windows 7 ?

I downloaded the video from the Shenmue.link site and used a media player to "pan and scan" on the monitor. It almost definitely says 23/11/2016.

I'm going to reverse my position on them shooting this in August and faking that they shot it last week. The more I think about it, the more elaborate and far-fetched the idea sounds. Likely it was just an error in editing the title cards in the video.
