Whether we get the game by then or not, it'll be interesting to know what we will have seen/read/discovered of the game through updates/press by then...

Also, kinda scary to know how quickly the year has flown past... :/

...and on that note: high spiritz guys! XD

I think we need to strap ourselves in for E3.

Shenmue 3 trailer and HD remakes announced.

It's going to be very interesting how things develop this year. The big question is obviously if YSnet can make 2017 or not.

I'm not sure they've even reached Alpha stage with their software just yet, but we're in the dark about a lot of things right now so I guess they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Even Suzuki and Cedric are still saying they'll meet the date. I wouldn't be surprised if they do it, it's suzuki and part of the legendary old am2 team!

Yeah. I honestly believe if there was no chance at all, they would have said when asked, or just provided a "no comment" type response.

We'll see how it pans out. None of us would be surprised if we get a re-reveal trailer followed by a delay announcement.

On the one hand, even if YSnet manages to meet the date, that doesn't necessarily mean the game will not be delayed. If there is any opportunity to benefit some additional months, Yu will have no hesitation. Depends on how many further funds YS Net and Shibuya Productions can collect up after proving the production is progressing well and the game going to be badass, although the possibilities are slim.

On the other hand, a report is not necessarily meant to be the first option if the deadline is turning out to be too tight. Let's assume that YSnet fails to find the money to pay a delay, they would simply drop the wip content from the final version as the conception of Shenmue III is designed to be naturally scalable for crowdfunding purposes. Everything can still happens.

The scale comments aren't really applicable here, are they? They were more in reference to the initial project planning segment for the game. X amount will let us do this, Y amount will let us do that.

Either way, there's a plan if the game needs delaying.

The Kickstarter more or less says in the FAQ section this isn't an everything or nothing situation if the game isn't ready for December 2017, and I seriously doubt a team with this much experience wouldn't account for a delay. A funding source is waiting in the wings, or maybe the Slacker Backer funds are being stowed away for another couple months, or maybe the budgeting has been frugal enough to take the pressure off in the short term. I dunno.

I have a feeling the game will eventually get delayed because they were suppose to give backers a trial demo at the start of 2017 and they havent talk about it yet. I don't mind the game being delayed for a few months but having to wait another year would make me lose my mind.

And 2 and a half months till E3.

(Or if some of the more unreliable/daft rumours were true, we're just half of a month away from getting our physical copies of shenmue 1 and 2 HD collection xD)

((Seriously though, I wouldn't mind if sega did an April fools announcement for them that ended up being true like far cry 3 blood dragon... that'd be rad!))

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - such a brilliant game. Despite being made by Ubisoft, who have managed to amass a not-so-savoury reputation in recent years, Blood Dragon felt like such a passion project instead of the next box on the assembly line. Being a huge fan of The Terminator and the neon aesthetic certainly made it all the more enjoyable, too :)

I can't believe we're only 8 months away from December 2017.

The time really flew by.. still shocked how little we know about the game now nearly 3/4 through the announced dev cycle.

Bring on E3! 8)

Will there be another Shenmue dojo Twitch?
