It's just the original E3 promo video on YouTube from what I can see.

Glad with the update. Exactly the kind of content I was hoping.
Now they can go silent until E3. :-o

Readers will tend to think that the sword is actually featured rofl.

So the thought will actually play a role in S3? Interesting.

I know, they mentioned (with much humour) the Sword of the Seven stars.. goodness me, I think that's something we all would like to forget. :p

This was a rather small update, nothing new to see. They're bound to hold things together for the big reveal now.

These questions could easily be connected with the developement process of Shenmue and Shenmue II and he mainly talked about those I think. Still good to hear from the master himself that it's an "adventure about kung-fu".

As for the sword, I think this could mean anything, makes it interesting. Right now I think that it won't play any role further down the story and that it's just going to appear in a flashback / the reintroduction of Guilin.
That would then mean that he sticks to the magical appearance of the thing. Or maybe he was just picking it up in a lightheared fashion because it's such an iconic polarizing moment. We'll see...

Part of the reason development of Shenmue moved from the Saturn to the Dreamcast was because they had difficulty implementing sword fighting on the older console. Will be interesting to see if it finally makes an appearance in Shenmue III...

Mystical elements are intrinsic to the game's plot. Seriously, if it bothers you then you've spent fifteen years pining over the wrong franchise, because that's just what Shenmue is, like it or not.

exactly, it always frustrates me at how people could miss the story was going to go this way.
