"Surprise announcements?" hooooooolllllyyyy shish klebabs!!! What could they possibly announce outside of what they've already mentioned/we know of? They've said movie clips and updates. Can't be a finite date because they've recently given us an estimate prior (and you know, too soon). Hmmm, something about their stretch goals? Maybe (super hopeful) new investment channels/partnerships (cause you can't have enough dough)? Or will it be something along the lines of the kickstarter reward surveys? Hmmmmm what are they teasing? What a funny thing to place emphasis on.

@Kiske oh I'm outta hype fuel for that [Shenmue HD]. When it's officially announced then I'm gonna let it sink in (or maaaaaaybe when we're close to playstation event) it's too painful right now haha. (BUUUUUUT if Shenmue HD was announced at gamescom *head explodes*)

Love the modelling work and concept art btw! Fangmei-style characters give off a great Shenmue vibe/a sense of mystery just like the first time I saw this part of Shenmue 2's trailer in hype for it's release. Also, I declare that gold is now my new favourite colour after seeing that shenmue logo haha sweet premium feel/Suzuki-san gold standard... I like it!

P.S. I'm imagining Joel Tess's voice writing the captions for those screenshots xD
Looking forward to hearing more as the months pass by (I assume July will be more of a break month?)

Shibuya Productions aren't the ones exhibiting Shenmue III at Gamescom, but more info about who is will come soon.

My money is that Sony are going to announce a presence/conference in the next few weeks.

No way, they're coming to Germany? Just a while ago I was asking myself if Yu Suzuki ever set foot here and now this opportunity, if he somehow attends the show himself. No matter how there's no excuse this time, I have to get there somehow!

And finally the real Shenmue III logo. Even though it's still thin on content this update is the best one so far!

Title logo change

Yes, Shenmue III has updated its title logo. Taking your comments into consideration, Yu Suzuki and the team gave the title logo another hard look and decided to update the logo with this design.

Such a great update, can't wait for gamescom.

I'm keeping my expectations in check and think that the announcements will be about rewards/update backing.

Lots of little things packed in a nice direct packing...

What is really cool about this update is that for once, we don't need to look forward to an event with the same old hopes & dreams about a Shenmue 3 presence. Knowing 100% that there are going to be some treats for us during Gamescom is just fantastic. The wait is going to be so long though!

Could be, but she has twin tails, not a single pony tail as shown in the recent update.



Oddly enough, this girl in the new update looks like she's from a Japanese shrine maiden, miko-chan, with the red hakama and white kimono, rather than from China.

She's too cute not to be a future love interest for Ryo.

They kinda made the same "mistake" with original design concepts for Fangmei. Just not quite as much of a direct match. I wonder if there are some connections here.

This is definitely a job for Switch. I think he's going to post an article about the update on his blog.
He'll probably make a full translation of the original Japanese update version.
