Huge news this morning. Happy to wake up to this before work.

What announcements will we get? Fully funded by an unknown party? Teaser reveal hinting at a full reveal at PSX?

I'd keep an eye on Sega as well. If their presence is confirmed in a bigger way
, maybe the 1-2 punch with the HDs will happen at Gamescom.

Just have to take a moment to wish farewell to the good ol' paryapus logo. Poor thing had a hard life and it's thankfully been retired to history.

Thank God too! How immense is the fact that we have a new, old logo. I mean, never mind dreams coming true at Gamescom, we are going to have a physical box with the real Shenmue 3 logo on it. The one that was revealed in 2015.

Words cant describe how happy I am about that alone. Fuck yes!

It's little, but changing the logo shows they are listening. I hope they weren't too attached to that ugly Papyrus logo.

Using the terrible papyrus logo was out of the question since the beginning, pretty certainly. We would have gotten either a completely new logo or the return of the old one. Finally that's the second oh yeah!

It was obvious the Papyrus logo wasn't going to last in the long term, especially after what was said about it in the April 2016 update:

First for the Shenmue III logo. There have been many comments from Shenmue fans wanting the logo to match the original logos from Shenmue 1& 2. We have heard your calls and will of course put it on the to-do list. This particular issue will take some time, however, as game development is currently taking a front seat to other design issues.


Makes sense YSnet are changing the logo now when they're getting ready to start promoting the game.

From what I can gather, the S is now separate to the rest of the text and it looks like the letters in 'henmue' are slightly more spaced out.

Good point. The in-between space was already that high with the Xbox version logo while the S alone is totally new.

It's a very political logo, with pleasing the fans as the main aim but with slight touches to reduce the damages. The text is still highly confusing so we might say that Suzuki has kindly sacrificed the logo for us. Thanks to him again.

The n-m-u confusion is still there for instance.

Those models take a while to get right and you know, they level of skill shown with those models are basically top draw. When they are fully animated with cloth physics, they will look even better.

The other thing is, these could be general NPCs but could also be characters you engage with for dialogue more than the casual street talk.

I wonder if you end up learning a technique off hair-roll mumma.
