I woke up around 2am and I kept refreshing the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter page and thought they forgot about it and I woke up just now totally surprised by this update. Is that new character Mai Mai that Kenji talked about in his video?

From the gratitude of the team for the fans reactions about the "delay" of Shenmue 3 to the new logo, new characters and above all, Gamescom 2017 presence, I'm on heaven!!!

Totally not what I expected from this update, but I'm incredibly pleased all the same.

So on the fence about going haha. I'm just outside London and have worked it all out, but not sure if I wanna drop 700 quid. I've paid attention to Gamescom before, but mostly via media outlets and some Twitch livestreams. Would be amazing to see the game and ofc Yu in person!

I was able to tell because of the hair. Mai Mai is going to be an interesting new female character. I'm so excited that Shenmue 3 will be shown very soon.

These models look as detailed as the previous muscle man update which caused so much controversy..

I think it's just the yellow colour scheme. Makes sense. Shenmue II had a red themed logo compared to the plain white Shenmue I logo.

Could be, but she has twin tails, not a single pony tail as shown in the recent update.



Oddly enough, this girl in the new update looks like she's a Japanese shrine maiden, miko-chan, with the red hakama and white kimono, rather than from China.

She's too cute not to be a future love interest for Ryo.
