I've read the update again and I don't understand how people are misreading it - it's quite clear.

Shenmue III will be at gamescom. Whatever is shown in the business area won't be shown in the general public area but YS will be doing a meet and greet. Anything shown in the business area will be shown to Kickstarter backers at the same time.

Simples.

The article focuses too much on travelers and German fans. Two simple words about the business content would have been appreciated to avoid obvious misunderstanding. But anyway, it's a blessing in disguise.

Anyway, how is gamescom ? Like are there conferences ? videos ? or mostly press releases scattered around different websites ? I don´t think I've ever watched or waited for one.

It's very generous of him. I bet Kojima wasn't walking about the public show floor after the Sony showcase in 2016, meeting and talking with fans.

I personally wouldn't recommend any Kojima/Suzuki - Kojima Productions/YSNet comparisons. We (Shenmue fans) already have enough disappointments through out the past 17 years ...

And for those (like me) who are disappointed with the current development state of Shenmue 3, just wait till you see what'll be soon shared at Gamescom ...

You don't know what the current development state of the game is or what they will be sharing at Gamescom, you just enjoy complaining and being negative about everything, now even to the point of complaining about things that haven't even happened yet like the Gamescom showing.

The massive Hall 1 is usually booked out by EA where they live streamed from for the past couple of years. But this year, Gamescom have reserved that hall for the event itself, so rumors are that there will be E3 like showcases. They haven't been announced yet, but it does say that all livestreams will be on the main Gamescom front page.

Good update. Continually baffling how the games media fail in reading comprehension. I thought you had to be good at that stuff to be a "journalist"? Ah, I wish I had such a cushy job.

Nice to see confirmation of an update going out simultaneously with their press screening. It's exactly how this should play out, and tbh was probably the plan for the start if people didn't connect the dots from the last update.

Some of the updates have raised a few eyebrows, but not the gamescom updates. How anybody can moan about them is beyond me.
