Are there going to be free battles in the game ? If so what is the new scrolls system and how it relates to the qtes?

apparently hes creating a new fighting/ qte gameplay style. - 14 years of planning, you know Yu Suzuki is going to have some great ideas, which every other game maker is going to copy.

Seriously though, it'd be interesting to see Yu playing the original two games and giving his insight into aspects of their production. But at the same time, I guess a Q&A about Shenmue III may prove just as insightful.

btw, don't you think it's a good idea to have alternate clothes and outfits to change into? having the base clothes is important and I think they will have that. But, I think having clothes and things to change into would be an obvious addition. Tekken and other fighters have a ton of clothes swap and things nowadays that people enjoy. Having a black jacket for Ryo would be alright if it was a choice?

you're totally speaking for yourself there, i don't think fans settled for anything. changing from leather jacket and jeans to some traditional chinese martial arts stuff might just be part of the story..

Here's two I wouldn't mind asked in my absence:

"In previous Shenmue games, Ryo fought martial artists who fought with Virtua Fighter fighting styles. Will there be more Virtua Fighter fighting styles encountered in the game, and will these be necessary to progress or maybe secret encounters?"

If I won't or can't be around again when this happens, please put these questions forward for me. I missed the chance while the AMA was running, after the fake one happened and always wanted to get some insight on these.

- In Shenmue II people thought the game would end after the Kowloon chapter, with Ryo starting his Journey to Guilin. It felt so in line with the ending of the first Shenmue. Was this originally planned as the ending of the game, with Guilin added later on? Or was the Guilin chapter always ment to be in the game with it's cliffhanger ending?

- The earliest shown footage of Shenmue during it's Premiere happened to be from Shenmue II, showcasing Wan Chai. Back then the area looked vastly different from what it does in the final game. Wan Chai looked very drab and muted, almost polluted. In contrast the Wan Chai we got in the end is a much happier and brighter looking place, with vibrant colors. What lead to this design change?

- In Shenmue, saving is restricted only to Ryo's room. While in town it's only possible to make a resume file, wich forces the player to quit the game and when it is loaded, it will be deleted. Why were these restrictions necessary?

We should really have a question in there regarding Paypal as a means of funding after the Kickstarter has finished. We really need to push this question to Yu and Biscay every single chance we get.

but, didn't ryu often sweat and have bad dreams about his father's death? I think that's a perfect way to start SH3, playing Sh1 for about 20 min, and then seeing Ryu sweating and waking up in whatever location he is in for SH3.

Play the game until his father is killed, wake up and begin SH3. It seems perfect to me. I need a reminder anyways

And play the game until his father gets killed... So you are saying the should have the opening movie sequence of Shenmue 1 in Shenmue 3? Well, I guess that's gonna be in the movie shorts anyway, so what's the point of remaking that movie sequence in the new engine? That's how Shenmue 1 starts. Iwao gets killed before you actually PLAY.

I mean, it will be cut and can be in different sequences and parts. It's like a flash back, for any of you that played horror titles that have flashback like moments, they are sort of a bit story driven or random. I think batman does it a little but not really as part of the story.
