That bias has been established because of SEGA's misleading marketing to sell it to the masses as an open-world beat-em-up game. Those who bought it and expected that, got disappointed, and even more so despised it because of its slow-pace and lack of constant action. Whereas, the other players (as a new formed market), appreciated its intention to let the player be part of the interactive world and story, and experience its living breathing cinematic space. It appeals more to players who clamour for exploring and are idealists, seeking for spiritual/informative context, than hollow escapism with brutal violence and killing (adrenaline-driven motives).
