I don't get the point of speed runs. Takes the experience out and just rushing through something to get it over with defeats the point to me.

You have to have played a game a hundred times to be good enough to do a proper speed run anyway. I doubt there's anything new to experience for someone who can beat metal gear solid in an hour. Its just showing off. A modern high score ranking.

Doing a speed run in GTA IV actually made the main story seem less of a chore for some reason.

I guess it's something you do in a game if it's one you really love, and know well. I don't think there is a 'point' to them, other than to push your skills. It's also dependant on the game, I would say. Probably not much point doing a Myst speed run, but then people probably have.

I've got a few maps left to finish, then I'm done with Ultimate Doom.

Should I play Doom II, Resurrection of Evil, or The Lost Mission next?

It would depend on the game, but it could potentially make you adapt your tactics and alter your entire strategy going in if the "safe and steady" plan you have always relied upon for getting through run of the mill enemies and obstacles is no longer feasible under the new harsher time limit.

I already need a second playthrough. I squeeze the triggers whenever I'm bored or trying to think (y'know, loading screens, cut-scenes, puzzles...) Guess what the devs did? They thought it'd be a good idea to have a "skip puzzle" option. Much like Conviction's "complete game" button. So yeah, accidentally knocked it, now I either have to start again, or replay it as soon as I've finished...

Just bought Natural Selection 2. It was about a time to be released. The first NS was great game and first impression of the second one is strong. I missed all the marine alien action.

Anyone tried Curiosity? Its free and all you are doing is breaking down a giant cube but yeah i want to know whats inside the cube and its interesting that only 1 person in the world will unlock it[but can reveal/upload the vid for the world to see]
