CHINA GAMES SHOW TRAILER DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY SPOILERS

Postby Dragnoix » Sat Jul 29, 2006 7:21 pm

I've seen the video, and it's surprising that no one else has thought of this.

Remember the poem in S2? If not, here it is.

From a distant land in the East, from across the sea, he shall appear.

He does not know of the strangth hidden within him.

The strength that would destroy him.

The strangth that would fulfill his wishes.

When he is ready he shall seek me out.

And we shall brave together the rocky path.

I shall wait...

This encounter has been my destiny since ancient times.

A Dragon shall emerge from the Earth, and dark clouds shall obscure the heavens.

A Phoenix shall descend from above, with its wings will create a purple wind.

In the midst of the pitch-black night, a morning star shall glisten, alone....

Is it me, or is that exactly what happened in the trailer?!?!

"A morning star shall glisten alone"

What was Shenhua holding in her hands at the end of the video?

I rest my case.

one thing not in the poem is her summoning the pheonix. If that was her, I wasn't really paying attention.

doesn't matter, re-read the poem, and watch the trailer, it's exactly what happens.

Ok sure, I don't really care if there is spoilers or not. I missed the Pheonix emerging from the sky part.

It's because everybody knows the poem off by heart anyway.

The outrage is because we didn't want to see any of that yet! And there was always the theory that the poem was simply metaphorical.

Yeah. That's true. So don't worry Shenmue Dojo members, it's just a Poem-video, like a Musical-video. :P

So you base your outrage on something that you THOUGHT?

I NEVER doubted that the poem would come to past in the future of the game, simply because both creatures are represented by a strange, and very rare mirror that seems to be at the top of everyone's must have list.

Whether you wanted to see it or not, the poem practically tells you it's going to happen. And from what i understand S2 was the start of many, many more chapters to come, MEANING that the content in that poem would eventually begin the REAL ACTUAL journey.

So whether is saddened you to SEE it or not, you heard it damn near everytime you fired up that ol copy of Shenmue 2 in your dreamcast or XBOX.

We weren't pissed of that it does happen.... we were pissed off about being told HOW it happens. We'd rather see it for ourselves in front of our own TV screen. Not on some trailer recorded off a camera.

Aww, cmon, all the trailer did was basically bring the poem to life on screen. Plus, we ALL know that ryo's journey didn't begin until he met Shenhua. So that trailer went beyond nothing but the beginning of the actual adventure.

And who says you won't get to see it happen on your own TV?

I don't, because i kept calm

Of course, Suzuki said a long time ago that it would have cutscenes from the first two games AND new scenes to help advance the story, so... why is anyone so surprised to see Shenhua show up like that?

But the things that have made some people angry is that

Shenmue is turning into a Final Fantasy game
And F.R.E.E wants to die.

I don't actually think that the gameplay of shenmue-online will really effect the gamelay on console. Fighting with a keyboard is WAY different than fighting with a console controller.

And about it turning into a different game theory, yes it may look different, but what you people have to remember is that it was a trailer for "SHENMUE-ONLINE". I think it showed that on screen like 2 or 3 times. It's not Shenmue 3, so Shenmue 3 isn't in any way associated with what was seen in the trailer.

Seriously though, think about it. What do most successful MMORPG have in common??????????

MAGIC!!
They are CLEARLY trying to appeal to the MMORPG audience, so why all the fuss?

Hope Shenmue III don't repeat magic feature from Shenmue Online.
At least I can't imagine Ryo will use from Fire Balls.

But I'm sure Shen Hua will summon a phoenix in Shenmue III if it ever comes...

Shen Hua has a lot of hidden powers...(magic powers)
Martial Arts are based on CHI energy (in Japanese KI) but they are hidden from normal eyes...But Yu have decided to show them just like
MORTAL KOMBAT.

I aslo believe that Yu will never use from Shenmue's engine for demos...

Shenmue III's cutscences will be all pre rendered CG movies.

Real Time is dead for Shenmue,
