This new game is very excellent, but IMHO, does not really deserve the 40 Famitsu got it. 10 years ago, I used to think Famitsu had harder standards but not as hard as they were. Soul Calibur and Ocarina of Time are the two games I can think of that deserved their 40s. Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 is really awesome, but the dialog heavy cutscenes that exceed MGS4 by far kind of drags it down even if they can be engaging. Of course that would be difficult for non-Japanese speakers who choose to import.
In Kiryu's game in Fukuoka, some of the characters speak in Hakata-ben, the dialect of Fukuoka city area. It is very strange to me. I can understand the Kansai/Osaka dialect because I have many friends from Osaka and the Yakuza way of speaking is influenced by it because the yakuza are based out of that region. I also used to live in Hiroshima and Shikoku, and a lot of the dialects in those regions share similarities with Osaka and Kansai. I had a teacher from Nagoya so I do some of of Nagoya dialect as well.
But this game is truly a unique and diverse experience. It is like you are getting 7 games in one. You got an action game, you got a dancing game, a singing game, a baseball game, Virtua Fighter 2, a driving simulation game and a hunting game.
The new character Shinata is a reviewer of sex clubs since he got kicked out of baseball.
Plus, this game will tell you something new about Majima which really shocked me.
