It amazes me how many people get a virus on their computer whilst having anti-virus software installed. I stopped usin em years ago, and the only times my computers have been affected is when someone else has gone on em.

I only use my Mac for Logic Pro. I only got it for music-related work anyway, always hated em though, but I do admit that sometimes it feels nice operating it. I'm more at home with a PC though, coz I know where I stand and I ain't at a loss with what to do if summat fucks up. That's the one thing Windows will always have over Mac... familiarity and the ability to fix anythin yourself with ease.

I dont have antivirus installed. Haven't for a long time now. Still have never had a single problem though. I only visit about 20 sites regularly, i dont watch porn at all (no joke, i dont get it. I do my thing in real life) i only download torrent files. Oh and use CCleaner twice a week.

Have never had a single thing wrong with my laptop.

PC is cheaper and you have more programs to work with. Also ideal for gaming too.

I don't use my Mac for anything other than web surfing and creative stuff like Photoshop, FCP, and all that. It's a 2008 investment that paid off very well. Definitely gonna get me one of the newer ones once I get the cash.

I remember you used to have to keep having your PC repaired for viruses & Malware Pete.

It's best to have one and also most the time people get one it's out of habit. Meaning sites they visit. Being careful is always the best but still want insurance. You never know.

Also the mac thing is a myth that's BS. There is many viruses out there for macs as well. less of them because less macs out there. Linux is the one for no problems

You don't watch porn? You a mormon or summat? Shit, even the missus watches porn with me.

EDIT: In regards to Ryudo's post, ignore the insurance thing. You got me. I can repair any hard drive in existence. Even if it's been burned or dropped in water, if there's a chance of recoverin somethin, I can do it. Gettin rid of any virus the old fashioned way's a hell of a lot easier and more efficient than anti-virus software anyway, coz despite what they tell you, most of the time they still leave traces on the hard drive.

There are like a few dozen viruses for the Mac compared to the thousands for PC. So the chances of getting one is pretty much ziltch. I never had malware issues with this Mac compared to my old PC laptop where it was like a weekly issue.
