GameStop said today it's seen 1.2 million reserves placed on Wii U launch titles worldwide, that's more than double that of the original Wii launch titles in 2006. The retailer also listed off its top reserving titles, which include ZombiU, Assassin's Creed 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and New Super Mario Bros. U.

"While we remain very excited about Wii U's potential we also caution that we have limited knowledge of supply and we may not be able to satisfy the strong demand during our fourth quarter," GameStop president Tony Bartel said during the company's earnings call this morning.

GameStop said it has nearly 500,000 customers on the Wii U reservation waitlist worldwide.

So by the time Bayonetta 2 or Pikmin 3 comes out the Wiiu will likely have overtaken the Vita :(

 Remember back in the day when the world record for most pre ordered consoles was like 150K for N64 or 200K for Dreamcast. These were world records. Fuck me how times have changed.

Visually, Ninja Gaiden 3 is hardly going to make your PS3 and Xbox-owning friends envious. In fact, Razor’s Edge is arguably uglier than its cousins, with bland textures and a bad case of the “jaggies” combining to create a muddy look that would’ve been called out seven years ago during the Xbox 360’s launch. Still, the framerate stays (mostly) smooth, which is crucial for a game like this.

theres a side by side in the video and the gamesrader review actually mentions that the game has more going on visually at all times.

Also take a look at comparison shots, the WiiU textures are better and have better AA. The WiiU version also has Vsync.
The differences aren't really noticeable but I think it just goes to show how hard it is to trust reviews.

Nintendo needs to accept someday Capacitive touchscreens exist. It's not 2002 anymore. Stop pushing restive.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/18/ ... ii-u-eshop

"We can set our own pricing and actually continuing on that by setting our own sales whenever we want. It is very close to what Apple and Steam are doing at the moment, and very indie friendly."

Some controversy has emerged in recent years, as independent developers of games like Braid and Fez have complained about the steep prices required by publishers like Microsoft when issuing content updates. In the case of XBLA, the first update is free - and then you start paying. That's not the case with Wii U.

"We had the port of Trine 2 working in about two days and then after that it was just about getting the game to look nicer and to implement the touch screen related features."

Nintendo has told the developer it has the same philosophy for added content as it does patches - it's free.

Looks like i really will be hitting up the new eshop

Zombie U reviews

5 from gameinformer

http://www.gameinformer.com/games/zombi ... -u-ip.aspx

Clunky combat, tedious inventory management, and forced GamePad features drain this game of fun

Gamers eager for a new experience tailored to the Wii U likely have their eyes on ZombiU. It shows off nearly every feature of Nintendo’s new hardware, but the sum of these parts is a horrifying Frankenstein’s Monster. Good zombie games are a dime a dozen these days, and I can’t recommend ZombiU above them despite being the only undead shooter on the Wii U.

8.4 from CVG
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/37 ... ck-review/

The missions are mostly excellent, but at one point the story grinds to a halt and the game forces you to go around the city collecting 7 items, which feels like a fairly obvious attempt to artificially extend its lifespan. We do love the use of gear-gating, though. Like in Batman: Arkham City, some areas will be blocked off until you find a certain tool. In the first level you'll see a pile of rubble and your scanner will pick up an item behind it, but you'll have no way of accessing it. Then, once you find C4 explosives much later in the game, you can return and grab it.

ZombiU is full of great ideas, some borrowed from other games, and others uniquely its own. It harks back to glory days of the slow-burning survival horror, but the GamePad gives it a modern edge. The first-person movement can be clumsy, and there are a few stark difficulty spikes, but it's an imaginative spin on the horror genre. But is it scary? Well, yes, but not in the sense that you'll be jumping out of your seat every five minutes, but in the way it builds tension, the grim atmosphere of the world, and the constant threat of dying and losing all your precious gear.

6.3 from IGN
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/11/18/zombiu-review

ZombiU has so many great ideas from looting with the Wii U GamePad to permadeath to its spooky setting, but none of them grow into a great game. Controls are clunky, melee combat is annoying, and the game doesn’t look good. There’s fun to be had here as it’s challenging to see how long you can go before succumbing to a biter, but there are so many better zombie games out there that ZombiU really doesn’t demand anyone’s attention.

Yeah and its a shame as i thought it would be the next Condemned seeing as that actual series appears to have been killed off.

ZombiU is great. Darksiders 2 runs like shit, ninja Gaiden is better but still not as good as 1 and Assassin's Creed 3 is still sealed.
