This game must be optimised well for pc because my PC is a 3 year old gaming PC and it looks stunning, a different class to that on XBOX.

Think about it this way, they're making a game for a piece of hardware thats half a decade old and doesn't have any particularly distinguishing features to its chipset. Running it on anything new should be easy.

just finished playing it, it's ok but not great, very linear it mainly focusses on combat with a shooting section and a small bit of parkour (very small), no exploring or driving though

Wasn't keen on it. Mostly to do with how on-rails it was. But it was a demo so can't complain about that too much.

Didn't like the combat at all. It seems all you do is press square. Feels very rigid. The shooting was also pretty inaccurate. Without moving the cursor I fired two shots which went in different directions.

The dialogue constantly switching between cantonese and English speaks for authenticity on their point but I thought it was a bit weird.

I'll have to check out the demo because if it's just from the beginning of the game then I can understand the on-rails view. The main open world aspect doesn't start until you've completed the opening "tutorial" section.

There's a bit more to the combat with triangle for counters and circle for grapples and Yakuza-style heat actions. Simple strike combos are a bit Dynasty Warriors-ish with its simplicity but I played it like I would a Batman game and it made sense. Not as fluid though.

The language switches I liked, although I did sense a bit of cutting in those changes as if they cut from one language track to another rather than being one whole originally spoken sentence.

^If anything, it takes most of the combat from the Batman Arkham games.

Never felt as substantial. Seems like they added the counters and 'Heat' moves when they noticed how popular they were from other games but never feels as cohesive and well done as it's been done already.

The demo didn't do much for me. I think its "True Crime" roots are still pretty evident, which definitely isn't a good thing.
I was really disappointed by the stark separations between combat styles. Having played something like Dead to Rights: Retribution and experiencing truly seemless melee/gunplay action, it's strange going into a game like this (which stresses all of the variety it presents so much) and seeing how it strictly sets barriers between "melee areas" and "gunplay areas".
Maybe it was just a bad demo, but it really didn't inspire me to play further. I know it likely opens up a bit later on, but I just wasn't feeling it.

Both came out last Friday here.

Heh, opposite for me, I don't ever recall anyone saying True Crime New York was any good. A lot liked LA though, it was a big meh for me.

I remember true crime LA being huge but lacking content and too big for no reason, the combat was stiff as well and the last boss was a bitch to beat for no apparent reason, NY was kind of fun but far from gta, I liked being able to plant drugs on people and buy music and that though also I was pretty big in to hip hop at the time and it kind of had that vibe
