I think one is just a loose term used to insult others to feel better about themselves when really it's one of those situations like in Princess Bride " You keep using that word,I don't think it means what you think it means" I never take anyone serious if they stop debating and just throw out liberal.

Liberalism has varied forms of meaning depending on the subject. One part is more freedom of people and less Government influence on every nuance in citizens lives. One version might be more conservative in their views.
Another believes in more privatized economical decisions and not by larger corporations or Government. Another version believes Government should be more involved in things like Health Care and Education and claim to be more community focused.

Libertarian I think is more independence and wants more freedom of choice.

I'm no politics guy by any means so I may be off. This is just been my understanding of it

I'm no political guy either, but in modern politics Liberals tend to favor more federal involvement in state issues, while Conservatives favor less. That's the most basic gist of that.
Libertarian I'm not sure on. I believe it's an actual political party, as opposed to how liberalism is more of a philosophy. Didn't Clint Eastwood run as Libertarian when he was running for mayor in the 70s (or 80s, or whenever it was)?

Let me make it real simple for you. Libertarians don't care how you live your life. Liberals want to dictate how you live your life. Report complete.

so no one here knows what classical liberalism is? loul okay.

the two are virtually identical. libertarianism is more or less just the modern form.
