Thief wrote: I used to play that game all the time in the arcade. I remember finally getting it for the Master System but I was always a little disappointed with the port -- still loved it though and is one of the few master system games I still own. Plus the music is cool. :)

I have been playing Rastan lately on Taito Legends for PS2. I haven't actually played the SMS version in such a long time but I can remember playing it back in the day though and I used to think that the SMS version was good, it would be interesting to play it again though.

Anyway, back to topic I decided to play through Sonic 2 which I mentioned in the nostalgia topic and I was quite amazed at the Green Hill Zone music(which is zone 4 by the way).

I'm obsessed with Guilty Gear right now. I just picked up Guilty Gear X2 at a garage sale for $3 on a whim. Good god -- finally found the fighting game for me. This game is all sorts of perfect -- holy wow. Bridget and Slayer are my favorites right now but still kinda just experimenting.

Just re-bought Project: Overkill for the PS1. Was probably the first game I ever got for myself on the system.
Popped it in my computer just for the hell of it, and found that the soundtrack was actually readable right off the disc. Most of the music is a bit samey, but the occasional rock tracks are actually pretty cool. Really liked this one.

This tune is so awesome.

I like it so much that I thought I would check the arcade version music for this stage (thinking it would be so much better), and it almost put me to sleep!

They improved upon the music ten-fold for this stage in the Mega Drive/Genesis version.

I have been trying to force myself lately to finally finish Super Hydlide, I am finding it painful but I believe I am close to the end. The save file I am currently replaying is a save from roughly 5 years back...

Anyway, even though I am not much of a fan of the game itself, I do like the music which surprisingly, is remarkably good.

Just downloaded Larry 7 on gog. Been forever since I last played it, but the theme music brought back a lot of great memories.

I've never played this game, but if this is what the music sounds like I might have to make a purchase.

Currently playing Danganronpa 2 on Vita and Masafumi Takada's (formerly the composer on all of Suda51's games) insane electronic soundtrack just elevates the game to another level entirely. I love it.

These are my favourite three tracks:

Compared to those two insane tracks, this one is much more relaxing:

After preordering the game, I went to look up some music; the original arcade version's music was entirely synth, and lacked the punch of the live-performed music from earlier games, so I was sure they were going to re-record them for the console release. And I was right.
Goddayum, it feels good to hear new Guilty Gear music. Everyone has been given completely new themes, which is kind of a big thing since they've generally had the same ones, re-recorded a number of times, in all of the previous games. And even though I'll miss tunes like Writhe In Pain or Keep Yourself Alive, it's still amazing to hear new stuff for everyone.
Can't wait.
