Seen the tunnel, need something scarier.
We can all enjoy a good horror film!

I absolutely adore the whole horror concept, but it's hard to name any movies that are actually scary. Games can manage it because they're interactive, but it's harder for me to find in film. So I think when it comes to horror films, I find myself more concerned with an interesting aesthetic, rather than an abundance of scares.
That's probably why I've taken up watching Kwaidan every Halloween, because even though it's old and hardly "scary" at all, it tells a series of really good ghost stories with some truly remarkable visuals, especially for the time.

I haven't seen the sequel, but Insidious had some cool moments as well (though some of the mystique is lost when too much is shown near the end of it).

More recently I saw bits and pieces of Mama, and even though it didn't seem all that great, it's another that had some really cool design work and visual flourishes.

I've been feeling really interested in seeing both Suspiria and Phenomena, which the original Clock Tower on Super Famicom was heavily inspired by.

^How true that comment is.

I actually find psychological thrillers to be more "scary" than horror movies. Movies in the same vein as "The Machinist" for example; They attempt to mess with your head, rather then try and scare you in an obvious way.

In terms of horror it really is difficult to pick out movies that are genuinely scary.
I would suggest a couple of movies that I really enjoy, "The Cube" & "Event Horizon". In all honesty, I love both these movies and I can watch them over & over.
