You guys know Phil Owen tried to dox/embarrass members of the Dojo with old posts, played the inverse race card straw man and insulted people all over twitter?

I won't accept Kotaku's apology other than a complete distancing from the guy.

If you're curious here's his Twitter feed....I wouldn't waste your time even reading this garbage though. He's not really worth the time.

Lol. I like the .gif but I don't think Kotaku can fire him, he technically doesn't work there...he's freelance.

Guys, Phil Owen is not Kotaku, just like Joel Tess is not Shenmue III. Jason Schreier is clearly our friend in this and I don't see why any of you would insist on making him and all of Kotaku an enemy.

Clickbait? Can you point me to one single article on any video game news/reviews site that is NOT clickbait? This is positive Shenmue III press, it's a little piece of media exposure which is of great benefit to Shenmue III, Shenmue I&II HD and the franchise in general.

They left a freelance in charge of their site who created a negative clickbait article that tried to discredit the Shenmue Kickstarter. That's just sheer incompetence. And then they take the reins back and offer "sympathy" to Shenmue fans? Fuck sympathy, how about support?

Also, I can't find it just now, but he's also something like 'if I was a black woman, bet the response wouldn't be like this'

This guy is not Kotaku

This article doesn't apologise for hiring this idiot in the first place

At the very, very least it is indicative of a lack of quality editorial control and judgement. To then post a rather patronizing damage control "article" in a attempt to make amends is just pathetic...

This article is much more favorable coverage on one of the most widely read game blogs in the world.

I'm glad Jason wrote this.

Now, let's move on and stop talking about Kotaku please.

does anyone know the ACTUAL REASONS for the concern that people have about requiring a full funding breakdown of the kickstarter - including from other undisclosed backers? in all the articles i read it never gives them, just insinuates that not knowing is bad. what could the potential danger be? - am i missing something here?

I really don't think it is...Jason was in the comments of the original article saying it was harsh.

He comes off as sincere to me...That's just my opinion though.

Did that article get pulled? I couldn't find one about the place holder art.

Garbage site is garbage, this has been known long before this particular trash bag article. The practically forced follow up is just as embarrassing.
