No way. There's no place for another console. Nintendo is dying, and Valve is launching Steam Machines this year.

Probably it's all about their IPs

Dreamcast 2 my arse.

I believe that it actually wouldn't fund more than Shenmue 3 on kickstarter.

lol wut

And no one in their right mind will buy a STEAM Machine.

That's not saying that you're wrong about the console market though.

if SEGA played their cards right I personally think they could make an in road into the console market because of the uproar it would cause as an E3 announcement, SEGA's BACK!.. fantasy aside, I don't see them doing it though.

.. they need to get back into games development with talented people..

Sorry, i didn't mean that the company is dying, but their home console WiiU.

And Steam Machines could be great. It has a great catalogue, runs Linux, and i think the other companies must be worried. Steam is huge, and it's getting more and more games. So yes, i would buy one, seems like a good deal, but i already have a gaming PC.

The console market in japan is dead. Being FFXV the last hope in moving some console units.

SEGA has no idea on how to market products to the west where consoles actually get sold. Dreamcast 2 has a negative 100% chance of happening.

Maybe some retro console with roms or a virtual console for playing old games from Sega labeled as Dreamcast could happen. We have seen similar things before. But i don't think so.

Arcade games are kinda dead nowadays, right?
There is no place for SEGA games anymore, sadly.
We should be lucky that we even get Shenmue 3.

Steam Machines aren't for people that are actually gaming on PC. They are for attract people that have a console, because the "it's difficult to set up a PC" and those things.

The playstation 2 accomplished much more arcade wise than the Dreamcast ever did -- despite the Dreamcast basically being NAOMI hardware. Arcade games didn't do all that well during the sixth generation and likely wouldn't do well now. Arcade games are unfortunately dead.

I expect a Shenmue I & II HD announcement -- although knowing SEGA these days, I probably shouldn't.
