To be honest I'm glad someone said this before me, I felt like they burnt the quote out and it started to irritate me a bit by the end, especially when they were trying to "hip" shorten it, "Keep Friends!", bugs me a bit. I'm fine with the quote, but maybe they should have used another, bugs me a bit when I read it.

how much weight those words carry if he really was Zhao Sun Ming's killer (or if he was somehow responsible or involved with what did happen to him.) Being killed by your best friend's son may send some thoughts running through your head about how you treat others.

The entire phrase is irritating and makes me wanna slap Axm whenever he says it and laugh in Iwao's face when he dies. Not only that, but he could said summat a little more relevant. "Don't let them get their hands on the other mirror." Doesn't that make sense?

Well, sure, outside of the Shenmue world, the line sounds like basic, straightforward etiquette; within the context of the game, however, it takes on a much darker meaning: that of a dying man's warning.

It's always stuck me as a "don't repeat my mistakes" type of warning. Not exactly a confession but maybe an admission that his murder was something partially wrought by his own doing.

I don't find it to be non-wisdom. I think we take our friends and people who care about for granted. Ryo certainly does in I as he alienates all of them.

Yeah, he's not heeding the advice at all, in fact he's almost doing the exact opposite but then again this is kind of all on Iwao again for shaping Ryo into that kind of person. Ine even referenced Iwao's stubbornness when she admitted it was impossible to stop Ryo "who could tell the son of Iwao Hazuki..."

In all honesty though, its probably the most important line of dialogue in both games combined and clearly a theme going into the meat of the rest of the story.
Your opinion on if its a good set of words or not is fine but doesnt dismiss the fact its important.
