Oh my gosh...that is all it was. I deleted the VMU data file from a PAL game and that solved it, such a simple little thing but I thank you as I can now enjoy this while waiting for the third game.

My personal reasoning is that it's the same reason everyone loves Assassin's Creed in that it's a unique cultural setting. Of course games have taken place in Japan before, but not with so much culture and atmosphere, it's something different and exciting.
