The bad VA in the English dub is actually not the Voice Actor's fault, it has been reported that, that whole thing was Yu's fault actually. He made the VAs act like that, because he wanted them to sound like Japanese, just speaking English. If that's what he wanted, he really should've hired Japanes...

It all has to do with a certain scumbag named Peter Moore, who sold out both Sega and the NA release of Shenmue 2, to net his scumbag self a job at MS(That evil prick is now the CEO of EA, the root of all evil, so go figure sigh).
