The fact that everything it's on Sega's hands it's bad news, Sega it's a mess. Sega it's not doing anything with Shenmue and probably will never do, why not selling the rights?, Shenmue has zero value this days, or close to zero.

The interesting thing is that they hold the release till Shenmue future was clear, so this could mean that Sega is considering on making Shenmue III.

This could be so good for Shenmue, if they do a good port and the price is right, maybe we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Please be true.

I don't think this means nothing at all for the franchise, if it was dead before, it's dead now in the same way.

Last nail in the coffin, we refuse to believe but Shenmue die a long time ago. I will have a small bit of hope in the darkest corner of my heart but at this point it's a waste to have hopes.
